Iljo Kotorencev_cinematographer

Iljo Kotorencev was born in Liberec, Czech Republic. At age 4 he moved with his family to Macedonia.
In 2000 he graduated with an MA in Cinematography and Film from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art in Sofia, Bulgaria.
After his graduation he has been working in the cinema industry. To date he has participated in the making of more than 20 movies as cameraman, first and second camera assistant. As DOP he has worked on numerous music videos, commercials videos and short movies.
In 2008 he moved to Canada.
There Iljo continues to work as a freelance cinematographer and he had his first feature movie as a DOP. He is the Director of Photography on Denis Côté's movie "Carcasses", selected in Cannes 2009, Director's Fortnight, TIFF Canada's Top Ten features 2009.
Iljo lives and works in Toronto, ON.
